What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specifications of the Carrillo conrods for the Cosworth BDA engine?

The Carrillo conrods for the Cosworth BDA engine (SKU: SCR5271) feature a centre-to-centre length of 5.23 inches, a big end bore of 2.083 inches, and a pin bore of 0.812 inches. They are designed with a big end width of 0.932 inches and a pin width of 0.95 inches.

Are these conrods suitable for high-performance applications?

Yes, these conrods are manufactured from proprietary steel forgings, ensuring a high strength-to-weight ratio suitable for extreme racing applications. They are designed to withstand the demands of high RPM and power levels typical in motorsport environments.

What is the weight of the Carrillo conrods for the BDA engine?

The total weight of each Carrillo conrod for the BDA engine is 540 grams, with a rotating weight of 383 grams and a reciprocating weight of 157 grams. This lightweight design contributes to improved engine responsiveness.

Do I need to perform any machining on these conrods before installation?

While the conrods are precision manufactured, it is advisable to check the big-end and small-end dimensions for proper fitment. Depending on your specific engine setup, you may need to hone the big end or small end to achieve the correct clearances.

What is the lead time for ordering these conrods?

These conrods are special order items. If not in stock at CP Carrillo, please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery. You will be notified of the estimated time of arrival if there are any delays.
