What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the SCR7485 conrods?

The SCR7485 conrods may require big-end honing to achieve the correct clearance for the crankshaft journals. It's essential to verify the fitment with your specific engine setup, as variations in factory tolerances can affect the final dimensions.

What is the recommended installation procedure for the SCR7485 conrods?

When installing the SCR7485 conrods, ensure that the big end is aligned properly with the crankshaft and that the fasteners are torqued to the specifications provided by ARP. Always check for any signs of interference or binding during rotation before final assembly.

What type of fasteners are included with the SCR7485 conrods?

The SCR7485 conrods come with custom-designed CARR fasteners. These are engineered for high strength and reliability, suitable for the performance demands of the Lamborghini Gallardo V10 engine.

What is the weight of the SCR7485 conrods, and how does it affect performance?

The SCR7485 conrods have a total weight of 524 grams, with a rotating weight of 358 grams and a reciprocating weight of 166 grams. The lightweight design contributes to reduced inertia, allowing for quicker engine response and improved performance, particularly at higher RPMs.

Are there any specific clearance recommendations for the SCR7485 conrods?

Clearance recommendations for the SCR7485 conrods should be determined by the engine builder based on the specific application and intended use. It's crucial to set the correct bore clearance and ring gaps to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the engine.
