What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo conrods SCR5168?

The Carrillo conrods for the BMW S85B50 may require honing of the big-end and small-end to ensure proper fitment due to manufacturing tolerances. Always verify clearances with your engine builder to ensure optimal performance.

What is the recommended application for these conrods?

The SCR5168 conrods are designed for high-performance applications, particularly in racing environments. They are suitable for builds that require increased strength and reliability under high RPM and boost conditions.

What is the weight of the Carrillo SCR5168 conrods?

The total weight of each Carrillo SCR5168 conrod is approximately 522 grams, with a rotating weight of 372 grams and a reciprocating weight of 150 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and balance of your engine.

What type of fasteners are included with the SCR5168 conrods?

The SCR5168 conrods come with custom-designed ARP WMC 3/8 bolts, which provide high strength and reliability. Ensure to follow ARP's guidelines for installation and torque specifications.

How long can I expect delivery for the SCR5168 conrods?

The SCR5168 conrods are special order items. If not in stock at CP Carrillo, please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery. We will inform you of the estimated time of arrival if there are any delays.
