Machining and blueprinting:

  • Supply XR6 short
  • Dismantle XR6 block
  • Hot tank and wash XR6 block
  • Torque plate bore and hone block
  • Supply and remove/fit welsch plugs
  • Grind crank
  • Regrind crank to size
  • Check tunnel and hone
  • Mount and measure crank main journals
  • Mount and measure crank big end journals
  • Mount and measure crank in block with rods fitted
  • Check conrod small ends / piston pins and clearance
  • Check piston to bore clearance
  • Balance assembly
  • Install No#1and 6 rod and pistons – check deck alignment
  • Deck / machine block
  • Clean and inspect
  • Measure and set bearing clearances
  • Measure piston to bore clearances
  • Set ring gaps
  • Assemble short engine assembly – 6 cyl

Parts Supplied:

  • Supply and install CP / Ross forged pistons (upgraded 9310 pins optional at additional cost)
  • Supply and install SPOOL XR6 H beam conrods (upgraded L19 bolts optional at additional cost)

Spool CA18DET (87.6mm stroke x 84mm bore = 1942cc) Short Engine.

  • Custom forged CP pistons - any comp and bore size is available
  • Spool billet, nitrided, full counterweight 87.6mm stroke crank
  • Spool 4340 I beam conrods - ARP2000 3/8 bolts

Machining and blueprinting:

  • Dismantle RB26 block
  • Hot tank and wash RB26 block
  • Clearance block for 77.7mm crank
  • Torque plate bore and hone block
  • Supply and remove/fit welsch plugs
  • Drill and tap extra idler hole
  • Debur main bearing seats
  • Mount and measure crank main journals
  • Mount and measure crank big end journals
  • Mount and measure crank in block with rods fitted
  • Check conrod small ends / piston pins and clearance
  • Balance assembly
  • Install No#1and 6 rod and pistons – check deck alignment
  • Deck / machine block
  • Remove and fit 2 x Oil Gallery Plugs
  • Re-clean and inspect
  • Assemble short engine assembly – 6 cyl
  • Measure and set bearing clearances
  • Measure piston to bore clearances
  • Set ring gaps

RB32 forged short engines - suit RB30 SOHC and RB25 or RB26 cylinder head conversion.

Machining and blueprinting:

  • Dismantle RB30 block

  • Supply and remove/fit welsch plugs

  • Machine annular groove in main bearing seats (optional)

  • Check conrod small ends / piston pins and clearance

  • Install No#1 and 6 rod and pistons – check deck alignment

  • Remove and fit 2 x Oil Gallery Plugs
  • Re-clean and inspect
  • Assemble short engine assembly – 6 cyl

  • Supply SPOOL 91mm Billet stroker crank
  • Supply and install SPOOL RB32 I beam conrods

Billet Caps and girdle do not come standard on any short engines but are an option for additional cost.

RB34 forged short engines - suit RB30 SOHC and RB25 or RB26 cylinder head conversion.

Machining and blueprinting:

  • Torque plate bore and hone block

All Spool Drag Pro Conrods come standard with 7/16 ARP 2000 Fasteners

Spool Drag Pro I Beam connecting rods are the ultimate high strength direct fit conrod for all Nissan RB30 engines.

New features:

  • Upgraded ARP2000 7/16 bolts
  • Increased strength to the beam
  • Increased strength around the fasteners / bolts
  • Increased strength around the gudgeon pin

These conrods are designed to handle the most extreme punishment from the angriest RB engines.

There is no machining of any sort required. They suit RB30 NA, RB30 Turbo and RB30 engines with RB25 or RB26 heads fitted.
