The Haltech Nexus R5 VCU is a next-generation engine management system designed for serious performance applications. Combining a powerful ECU, smart power distribution module, dual-channel wideband controller, data logger, and advanced drive-by-wire control, the Nexus R5 delivers unmatched capability in a single integrated unit.

A true all-in-one ECU and PDM system with built-in data logging and dual wideband controllers.

High-Power Outputs

• 4 x 25A push-pull PWM outputs (5 kHz), suitable for injectors, coils, transbrakes, thermofans, and fuel pumps.

• 12 x 8A high-side outputs (200 Hz PWM) ideal for sensors, solenoids, and auxiliary functions.

Injector and Ignition Support

• 18 x peak/hold injector drivers (also usable as low-side outputs).

• 12 x low-current ignition outputs with low-side capability.

• 8 x PWM-capable low-side outputs (DPOs).

• 4 x H-bridge outputs (8A) designed for electronic throttle control.

Advanced Input Capability

• 23 x 0–5V analog inputs, including throttle redundancy and selectable 5V pullup.

• Trigger and home inputs with configurable thresholds and glitch filtering.

• 10 x synchronous pulsed inputs for cam sensors, frequency inputs, or additional analog channels.

Dual Wideband Controllers
Compatible with both NTK and Bosch LSU 4.9 sensors, ensuring precise air-fuel ratio control across all operating conditions.

Flexible Communication Options
3 x CAN ports with switchable termination for seamless integration with dashes, PDMs, and other CAN-enabled devices.

Harness Overview

The Nexus R5 is designed to pair with Haltech’s terminated V8 engine harness, providing a clean, professional installation for a wide range of GM, Ford, and Chrysler big-block and small-block engines. The base harness supplies all core connections to the R5 VCU, with additional Injector, Ignition, and Alternator sub-harnesses available to complete the system.
